When playing Link to the Past randomizers, keeping track of multiple locations and every item gets challenging after a while. Having a good Tracker/HUD is almost necessary when starting out. Trackers keep track of everything from items, chest counts, crystals, pendants, to locations of dungeons in the entrance randomizer. Finding information for all of these trackers online is somewhat challenging so I've put together a list of some of the best trackers. Make sure to look at what you need in a tracker as each of them do help different situations better. Without further ado, here are some of my favourite trackers and links on where to find them! EmotrackerBy far my favourite tracker to use, EmoTracker is a downloadable tracker that was designed with streamers in mind. There is a Broadcaster window you can capture to add to your stream, a map in order to keep track of the locations you have gone to and you can pin locations you need to go back to in the future to the Pinned Locations section of the tracker. The tracker also allows you to change between the different modes in the randomizer game so you can easily switch between open, standard or keysanity logic. EmoTracker will be integrated for other randomizer games in the future so it is by far my most recommended tracker. Click here to join the Discord to get this tracker Zarby's trackerZarby's tracker was my first tracker and still what I use to this day. Zarby's Tracker is a downloadable tracker that you use on your computer to select the items you have picked up. It is a very simple tracker that does not have chest counts in the dungeons unless you know how to customize it. It uses a few different Icon sets you can choose from and you can chose to set your background colour etc in order to match your stream. This HUD is completely customizable as well so feel free to add and remove whatever you need to make it useful for you. Click here to get Zarby's Tracker CrossProduct's TrackerCrossproduct's Tracker is amazing for beginners. It has a built in map that will highlight places you can go based on the items you have selected in the tracker. This makes it really handy to use if you are unfamiliar with the game as you are able to quickly look over at the map to see where you have missed. I should note that Cross's tracker is a web based program so it must be used in a browser which can be difficult for some people to get to show up on their stream. Click here to download Crossproduct's tracker. PUG HUD TrackerPUGHUD which was created by deathFouton on Twitch.tv is another downloadable and customizable HUD for the LttP Randomizer. This adds a couple more items to the tracker like Heart Pieces, Full Heart Containers and 1/2 Magic. The tracker is visually appealing using the in actual graphics of the items when they are picked up as opposed to the way they look in the menu. PUGHUD can be downloaded here. Entrance Randomizer TrackerCreated by Orphis, this tracker is a godsend for trying to remember where all the entrances are in the entrance randomizer. You can assign each entrance with where it leads to and mark any useless doors so you can keep track of where you need to go. It really is a must have when doing the entrance randomizer! Entrance Randomizer Tracker can be downloaded here. I thank you very much for taking the time to look over this guide. In continuation of my last blog post where I showed all the overworld locations in the game where you can obtain items, we have our latest edition: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Randomizer Dungeon Guide. In order to help everyone who is newer to the game, I have edited a couple of maps I had found for use on Ian-Albert.com in order to better assist everyone with finding every possible item location. These maps are only going to show you where the chests are located in the dungeons. I will be doing tutorial videos that I will be putting on my Youtube page if you wish to see how to efficiently access each chest. In Randomizer the items under the pots will still be the same so we have included the locations of anything guaranteed to be dropped from an enemy or anything found under pots. Please Note: Small keys dropped from enemies or under pots are not included on the list for each dungeon as the list is only for potential item locations. Please also note that I have left the chests that are guaranteed to have small keys in them with the image of a small key above them. Hyrule Castle Escape
Eastern Palace
Desert Palace
Tower of Hera
Hyrule Castle - Agahnim 1All chests in this dungeon are guaranteed small keys. Palace of Darkness

So you have decided to get into randomizer but have either never played or never 100%'d the original Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past game. To be honest I hadn't either before playing my first randomizer. In order to help everyone who is newer to the game, I have edited a couple of maps I had found for use on Ian-Albert.com in order to better assist everyone with finding every possible item location. This map is only going to show you where they are however. I will be doing tutorial videos that I will be putting on my Youtube page if you wish to see how each item is accessible. 02/18/2018 - This Map was Updated Based on V29 Spoiler Log Coming out Soon Overworld Items
Dungeons
When I first started playing The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past Randomizer, one of the biggest things I really struggled with was memorizing which items are needed for each dungeon. With the first randomizer tournament underway and due to the increasing popularity of the game and the influx of new players, I figured now was a good time to talk about the game and what is required for each dungeon.
So I guess the first question is, "What is LttP Randomizer?" Well, in the randomizer the basic structure (maps, dungeons, etc.) stays the same but all the items in the game have been shuffled to new places. In Version 8, boss hearts, NPC items, heart pieces, and chest items have also been shuffled. Prize packs for defeating enemies have been randomized as well and the objective of the randomizer is to beat Ganon as quickly as possible. What items do I need to beat the game?
Depending on the seed, the required dungeons will change as the crystals and pendants are randomized between dungeons. This is where careful planning and strategy is needed in order to avoid cases like this:
I have compiled a list of items required to full clear each dungeon. Please note that these items can also be found in the dungeons themselves, they just cannot be past the rooms that require them.
Eastern PalaceDesert PalaceTower of HeraHyrule Castle TowerPalace of darknessswamp palaceSkull woodsthieve's townice palacemisery Mireturtle rockganon's tower
Please note:
- Desert Palace can be entered 2 different ways so I have separated both access points in separate lists to indicate the items needed depending on which way you enter. - The medallions needed to enter both Turtle Rock and Misery Mire are randomized so the required medallion will be different in each seed. - Two items side by side separated by an "or" means you only need one of those two items to complete the dungeon.
In the future, I will be making an in depth guide for each dungeon, explaining how many chests and keys they contain, so please look forward to it. If there is anything I missed or that needs correcting, please leave a comment below.
